Description:

Thanks to your generous donations, HOLA will be able to ramp up its outreach efforts across the nation to increase its membership and expand its vital programming. In addition, your donations will also allow us to create a greater number of advocacy campaigns, year round, that will speak out forcefully on behalf of a more accurate and non-stereotyped portrayal of Latinos in this nation. HOLA will also be able to expand its network of industry contacts and training for Latino actors in order to create greater employment opportunities for the community and, as such, help bring about the day when the number of Latinos on screens accurately reflects their demographic presence in the nation.

Handwoven Coaster From Indego Africa:

The women at our partner cooperative, Covanya, have used their incredible talents to create these Woven Coaster Sets. The Woven Coaster Sets are made by hand – using needles & fine plant threads. Each set includes 4 woven coasters and a complementing woven holder. The Woven Coasters would look wonderful on your table paired with Indego Africa's Large Woven Platter.

Plateau baskets feature striking colors & traditional motifs. The artisan crafts each one-of-a-kind basket by hand – using needles & fine plant threads. The technique requires patience, precision & great skill to master. The women at our partner cooperatives are bringing their products into the US – and your home – for the first time.

ABOUT OUR PARTNERS

Indego Africa is a non-profit social enterprise that partners with women artisans in Rwanda to produce hand made and fair trade jewelry, accessories and home decor. Indego connects these artisans to the international export market through collaborations with retailers, brands and designers and then invests 100% of its profits back into training programs for these women in long-term business skills. 

El Museo del Barrio New York is New York’s leading Latino cultural institution, welcoming visitors of all backgrounds to discover the artistic and cultural landscape of the Caribbean and Latin America.

TO

TO means footprint in the Costa Rican indigenous language of the Bribri. TO is committed leaving a positive footprint on society by training prisoners in Costa Rica to design and produce fashionable goods. This allows the prisoners to support their family during their incarceration and to find gainful employment upon their release.
